About Us
History:
TECH CORPS was founded in 1995 by Gary Beach , Publisher Emeritus of CIO Magazine. Gary envisioned an organization which would challenge American volunteers to help K-12 schools build a technology infrastructure -- much like the Peace Corps challenges men and women to help developing countries build their infrastructures. Building from a state pilot in Massachusetts, TECH CORPS developed and deployed technology programs and tech-savvy volunteers to assist K-12 schools and youth-serving organizations across the country. Since 1995, more than 10,000 TECH CORPS volunteers have shared their time and talents assisting schools and nonprofit organizations in their communities.
Vision:
A technologically literate society in which all K-12 students have equal access to the technology skills, programs and resources that will enrich their education and allow them to successfully compete in the global workforce.
Mission:
It is three-fold and is achieved through:
Programs: Bringing additional technology resources to K-12 students and teachers through national, state and local programs.
People: Recruiting and supporting tech-savvy volunteers from the community to advise and assist schools and youth-serving nonprofit organizations in the integration of new technologies.
Partners. Increasing educational technology resources through partnerships with education, business, government and community.
Goals:
• K-12 students’ acquire a valuable and measurable set of technology skills to help them succeed in the classroom today and ultimately begin to prepare them for the technologically-rich workforce of tomorrow;
• Students increase their knowledge about the exciting and varied career opportunities in the technology;
• Increase the number of students interested in pursuing technology-related degrees, certifications and careers;
• Effectively engage technology volunteers to provide K-12 students and teachers with equal access to technology programs, resources and support.

Hi my name is Travis...The perfect job I would love to have is a software engineer. The number one reason why I would want to have this job is because I love building. I have been interested in constructing stuff all my life and now I'd love to learn how to build software.
