Organizational Overview:
TECH CORPS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring K-12 students have equal access to computer science programs, skills and resources that enhance early learning and prepare them for college and career. TECH CORPS develops technology programs and deploys tech-savvy talent to assist K-12 schools and youth-serving organizations across the country.

The mission of TECH CORPS is three-fold and is achieved through:

  • PROGRAMS Bringing additional technology resources to K-12 students and teachers through national, state and local programs such as Computing Career Corps, E4Tech, High School Coding Camp, Student Code Corps, Student TECH CORPS, Student WEB CORPS, Techie Camp, and Techie Club.
  • PEOPLE Recruiting and supporting tech-savvy volunteers from the community to advise and assist schools and youth- serving organizations in the integration of new technologies.
  • PARTNERS Increasing educational technology resources through partnerships with education, business, government and community.
Position:     Full-time, exempt
Location:     Central Ohio
Wage:     $35,000-$45,000 (commensurate with experience)


The Development Associate will have primary responsibility for assisting the National Executive Director with all development activities including corporate donations, grant solicitation and special events. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with National Executive Director to develop and implement TECH CORPS’ annual fundraising plan.
  • Conduct research, analyze data and compile reports on current and prospective donors.
  • Identify prospective donors and develop strategies to cultivate and maintain those relationships.
  • Work with National Executive Director to prepare and submit grant applications and proposals.
  • Prepare fundraising materials for special fundraising events and oversee implementation of such events.
  • Prepare donor reports and ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to donors.
  • Staff Board Development Committee meetings.
  • Collaborate with Regional Managers on the management and planning of regional fundraising efforts.
  • Develop aligned marketing collateral to support fundraising activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • Passion (for the mission of TECH CORPS), Creativity and Initiative
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Business or Non-profit Administration, Communications or related field preferred
  • Experience with fundraising in the non-profit arena (including grant writing, relationship building, opportunity research, etc.)


Preferred Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to manage projects without close supervision.
  • Strong writing and customer service relations skills, professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational and communication skills both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing communication products and in managing communication processes.
  • Experience with using database applications.
