JOB POSTING: High School Tech Camp Instructor

High School Tech Camp Program Overview
Tech Camp will introduce students to C# programming, Cyber Security and computer science concepts. Students will learn through the implementation of various labs and challenges that are based on real problems that software developers encounter everyday. Students will use the industry standard Visual Studio integrated development environment and security platforms throughout their camp experience. The camp will conclude with the completion of a final project with set criteria.

Position:     Instructor, Part-Time, Temporary
Wage:     $20-$25 per hour (amount varies based on location and program funder)
Dates/Time:     High School Tech Camps are offered between June 4, 2018 and August 17, 2018. High School Coding Camps run Monday – Friday typically from 9:00am to 4:00pm (Instructors arrive at 8:00am and stay no later than 5:00pm)
Locations:     High School Tech Camp is offered via partnerships with colleges/universities, K-12 schools and nonprofit organizations in Central and Northeast Ohio.


  • Programming (C++, C#, Java, Python)
  • Web Design & Development (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3) and Content Management Systems
  • Graphic Arts and 2D or 3D Video Game Design
  • Cyber Security and Data Analysis
  • Must have experience with industry standard and open source software, including image, audio, video manipulation, web authoring and programming environments.
  • Computer Science or Engineering degree preferred but not required.
  • Possess basic knowledge and/or have experience leading, coaching or teaching groups.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Previous experience working with diverse populations and/or urban teenagers is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The High School Tech Camp Instructor will be responsible for coordinating and implementing all day-to-day aspects of the camp, including but not limited to:

  • Attend training session prior to program start date
  • Familiarize and become an expert on High School Coding Camp tools (software & hardware)
  • Review lessons/activities prior to camp and have full understanding of the curriculum in relation to students
  • Have the ability to explain complex ideas to students in a language they can relate to and understand
  • Create a safe classroom environment conducive to cooperative and hands-on learning
  • Record camp through photos and videos, which need to be uploaded to Dropbox
  • Assist students with the successful completion of lessons/activities and evaluation
  • Provide feedback on the students’ experience with the overall program
  • Provide TECH CORPS staff with all program and evaluation data as requested
  • Perform other duties as needed for the successful implementation of the program
