Watertown, Mass. – September 19, 2001 – Sterling Hager, Inc., a
nationally ranked, full service, technology public relations firm, today
announced that it will provide comprehensive public relations services on
a pro-bono basis in support of TECH CORPS®, the "national technology
Peace Corps" dedicated to improving K-12 education at the grassroots
level by helping educators effectively use technology in their schools.
Headquartered in Maynard, Mass., TECH CORPS recruits technology industry
volunteers and builds partnerships among educators, businesses and
community members to assist schools to introduce new technologies into the
classroom. Depending on the specific needs of local schools, TECH CORPS
volunteers across the country conduct teacher training seminars, mentor
students and staff, repair and install computers, participate on
technology planning teams, work side-by-side with teachers in the
classroom, assist teachers with the integration of technology into the
curriculum, or support a wide variety of other local technology
activities.
"We sought a public relations agency focused on our target markets,
as well as the target markets of our partners, such as Compaq, Cisco,
Intel, AOL and Gateway," said Karen Smith, TECH CORPS executive
director. "We've worked with professionals from Sterling Hager, Inc.
before and we know first-hand of the measurable results they produce for
their clients."
"TECH CORPS brings together the best of business, education, and
technology to directly enrich the futures of the students they
serve," said Jim Joyal, Sterling Hager, Inc.'s president. "With
our roots and work in the technology industry, we are especially proud to
join and contribute our services to the TECH CORPS team."
