AmeriCorps*VISTA

 

AmeriCorps*VISTA, a program of the Corporation for National Service, places members in nonprofit agencies in communities across the United States to aid local efforts to alleviate poverty. AmeriCorps*VISTA members work to mobilize community resources and to strengthen the capacity of communities. AmeriCorps*VISTA Leaders work to expand and build the capacity of individual AmeriCorps*VISTA members and their sponsor agencies.

TECH CORPS currently has openings for AmeriCorps*VISTA members in state chapters across the country.

 

Eligibility and Benefits

To be an AmeriCorps*VISTA member, you must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.You will be assigned to TECH CORPS for one year, full-time. You will receive training, a living allowance, health insurance, and relocation expenses (if you move). You will also receive an education award of $4,725, which you can use to help pay for college, graduate school, or vocational training, or to pay off student loans. Or, you may choose to receive a stipend of $1,200 instead of the education award.
