Columbus, OH – On Tuesday, May 13, 2014, CardinalSolutions Group, a national IT solutions provider, will host Arena Tech Night, a quarterly event open to anyone in the IT community. Technology topics are presented in a hands-on, interactive fashion by IT professionals in Central Ohio, including an Oculus Rift, the Path to Virtual Realitykeynote. Participants can enjoy learning and sharing their knowledge with others in the IT community, while networking and winning prizes. Attendees are asked to make a $5 donation to TECH CORPS upon registering. These donations will support the 2014 Techie Camp Scholarship Fund. “We are very excited to be partnering with TECH CORPS for May’s Arena Tech Night,” said Nick Peterson, Director of Business Development for Cardinal Solutions Columbus office. “Cardinal Solutions is always looking for opportunities to share our passion for technology with others, and build strong community partnerships. We are happy to be able to assist TECH CORPS in their mission of inspiring and empowering Central Ohio youth through technology.”
Techie Camp is a full day, week-long summer experience designed to engage elementary and middle school students in hands-on, interactive STEM-related activities. Students take a “deep dive” into subject matter focused on Programming, Robotics, Web Development or Android App Development and emerge with knowledge, concepts and skills that are useful in today’s classroom and tomorrow’s workplace. Techie Camps will be offered at a number of locations throughout Ohio.
In the summer of 2014, TECH CORPS plans to educate, excite and empower up to 1,000 elementary and middle school students across the State of Ohio through mixed-gender and girl-only Techie Camp experiences. “We are elated that Cardinal Solutions selected TECH CORPS to be the recipient of their event donations,” said Carla Thompson, TECH CORPS Central Ohio Regional Director. “The knowledge and experience that students acquire through Techie Camp prepare them for future success in the IT and computer science industry; so, this partnership with Cardinal Solutions only makes sense.”
