TECH CORPS is searching for a Full-Time Communications & Design Specialist to join us as we work to Educate, Excite and Empower K-12 students! This is not your typical nonprofit job!
As the Communications & Design Specialist, you play a key role in enhancing the organization’s online and offline presence. This position is responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of the organization’s website, ensuring effective delivery of messages, ease of navigation, and clarity of information. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Communications & Design Specialist will assist executive leadership in crafting presentations, speeches, and other important corporate messages. Additionally, this role involves designing marketing materials, including flyers for programs, monthly newsletters, annual reports, snapshots, and social media graphics.
Who is TECH CORPS? For nearly 30 years, TECH CORPS has worked to ensure K-12 students have equal access to Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) programs, skills and resources that enhance early learning and prepare them for college, credential or career.
What Do We Do? We design computer science and IT programs that are rigorous, relevant and fun. We recruit, train and support technology talent to implement TECH CORPS programs. We work with partners, who believe as we do and together, we provide students and teachers access to programs designed to educate, excite and empower.
Salary: $45,000-$55,000 and generous benefits package
Location: Central Ohio (remote work available)

Website Management:
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the organization’s website.
- Ensure the website effectively delivers the organization’s message, is easy to navigate, and contains clear and relevant information.
- Regularly update website content to keep it current and engaging.
Corporate Communication:
- Assist executive leadership in developing presentations, speeches, reports, and other important corporate messages.
- Ensure that all corporate communications are aligned with the organization’s brand and mission.
Marketing and Design:
- Design marketing flyers for various programs and events.
- Create visually appealing and informative monthly newsletters for distribution to stakeholders.
- Design comprehensive annual reports and concise snapshots to highlight the organization’s achievements and impact.
- Design engaging social media graphics to support online campaigns and enhance social mediapresence.
Content Creation and Management:
- Develop and manage content that promotes the organization’s programs, services, and events.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistency in messaging across all platforms.
TECH CORPS is looking for a passionate, creative and collaborative professional to work in the Central Ohio area. Top candidates will have:
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and to manage multiple projects without close supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media and Design, Integrated Marketing Communications, Brand Management or a related field.
- Proven experience in website management and content creation.
- Strong design skills with proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership and other team members.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
It would be a bonus if you also had:
- Experience working in a nonprofit organization.
- Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress).
- Knowledge of SEO best practices.
