In 2022, with support from the Nordson Corporation Foundation, TECH CORPS served more than 1,000 students in four programs. 44 Techie Camps were delivered in seven states. 400 TECH CORPS Unplugged Kits were distributed to students in California. One IT On Ramp program was implemented in partnership with The Matthews House. One Student WEB CORPS program was delivered in Lorain County.
Techie Camp is a full day, week-long program designed to engage students in hands-on, interactive STEM activities focused on app development, computer programming and digital animation.
The Student WEB CORPS learn and earn program provided Lorain County (OH) high school students with an experience designed to strengthen their web development, project management and professionalism skills. Those skills were applied in the authentic task of building a website for a mock business.
The IT On Ramp program held in Ft. Collins (CO) was delivered in partnership with The Matthews House. During this two-week program students were exposed to a variety of computing topics including programming, app development and web development. Students built their awareness of technology educational and career pathways. Students also had the opportunity to earn high school graduation credits.
TECH CORPS Unplugged kits were distributed in California in partnership with STEAM: CODERS, a longtime Techie Camp program partner. Each kit included unplugged lessons, supplies and swag! Using the kits, students learned about topics ranging from algorithms to virtual reality.
