Position Summary: Part-time/Temporary position responsible for coordinating and implementing all day-to-day aspects of a program. Each cohort has two (2) instructors and one (1) site coordinator with up to 25 students. Programs include Computing Career Corps and IT On Ramp+.
Date: Programs will be implemented from January 27 – August 1, 2025.
Time: Program hours will vary (i.e. Computing Career Corps from 4-7pm; IT On Ramp+ from 9am-3pm).
Wage: $25 per hour
- Attend training session prior to program start date
- Work collaboratively with a Co-Instructor to facilitate engaging weekly sessions with up to 25 students
- Become knowledgeable of program tools (lessons/activities, software/hardware) prior to program sessions
- Be able to explain complex ideas to students so they can relate and understand
- Build a safe classroom environment conducive to collaborative learning
- Assist students with the successful completion of lessons/activities and evaluation
- Provide feedback on the students’ experience with the overall program
- Provide TECH CORPS staff with all program and evaluation data as requested
- Perform other duties as needed for the successful implementation of the program

- Ability to build a safe classroom environment conducive to collaborative and hands-on learning
- Basic knowledge and/or experience leading, mentoring or teaching groups
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Previous experience working with diverse populations and/or urban students is a plus
- Professionalism (time management, appearance, dependability, discretion) and strong work ethic
- Computer Science or Engineering major/program/degree preferred but not required
- Programming/coding
- Web Design & Development (e.g. JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and Content Management Systems
- Graphic Arts and 2D or 3D Video Game Design
- Open source software, including image, audio, video manipulation, web authoring and programming environments
- 3D modeling platforms (e.g. TinkerCAD, SketchUp)
Direct Report: TECH CORPS Instructors report to the TECH CORPS Program Manager.
Location: These programs will be held at various sites across the Columbus area.
