TECHIE CAMP introduces elementary students to robotics

TECH CORPS has teamed up with CoverMyMeds to bring Techie Camp to Columbus City Schools students. Techie Camp engages students in activities that stimulate an interest in technology.

CoverMyMeds, which recently opened its Franklinton campus, is excited to continue giving back to the community in meaningful ways.

“Our collaboration with TECH CORPS reflects our commitment to ensuring the innovators of tomorrow have the resources and opportunities for an equal shot at a successful future,” explained Lauren Burke, CoverMyMeds Data Scientist and TECH CORPS regional steering committee member.

“We are excited to bring Techie Camp to Columbus’ westside,” shared TECH CORPS Regional Manager, Kristen Gillenwater. “Techie Camp allows students to tinker and explore a variety of technology topics from robotics to coding to 3D printing.”

Students who will be in grades 4-6 this fall can register at no cost for the August 2-6 Techie Camp at Westmoor Middle School. To register, visit: bit.ly/CMMTCamp.

“With support from CoverMyMeds we look forward to expanding access to high-quality technology programs for K-12 students on the westside,” said Lisa M. Chambers, TECH CORPS National Executive Director. “We are working to provide a variety of year-round programs that empower students to become creators and designers with technology.”

TECH CORPS is a national nonprofit organization headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. For more than 25 years, TECH CORPS has worked to ensure K-12 students have equal access to technology programs, skills and resources that enhance early learning and prepare them for college, credential or career.

  1. I’m interested in learning more about how I can enroll my son into the program/camp. He is a student in the Columbus City School district.
