greatTECH CORPS Wins Top-Rated Award from GreatNonprofits

TECH CORPS has been honored with a prestigious 2014 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.

“We are excited to be named a Top-Rated Nonprofit for the second year in a row,” said Lisa M. Chambers, TECH CORPS National Executive Director. “For nearly 20 years, TECH CORPS has been working to educate, excite and empower K-12 students with technology. I am proud that after all of these years our supporters find our work relevant and top-rated!”

The GreatNonprofits’ award is based on the number of positive reviews that TECH CORPS received from volunteers, parents and donors. TECH CORPS is just one of four nonprofit organizations in Columbus, Ohio to receive the award this year.

Lisa Jackman, the Team Lead for Employee Engagement at Hyland Software, wrote, “Hyland has partnered with TECH CORPS to bring Techie Clubs to local schools. Not only are the students getting a great experience; our employees are getting a great volunteer experience as well. The TECH CORPS team and curriculum is phenomenal, and we truly value our partnership. We look forward to our continued collaboration!”

“In my three years volunteering, I’ve interacted with several of their programs – Techie Clubs at multiple schools, many one-day workshops, their NSBE Jr. Chapter and Techie Camp,” wrote Andrea Jacobs, Business Analyst, Chemical Abstracts. “I find TECH CORPS to be very organized but also not overbearing. When I started volunteering, I was totally uncertain having just come across the organization accidentally on the internet. However, in the past few years I’ve absolutely fallen in love with their mission and methods, and I can’t imagine my life without the time I spend working with TECH CORPS!”

This award is a form of recognition by the community. “People with direct experience with TECH CORPS have voted that the organization is making a real difference,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits.
