April Is National Volunteer Month - TECH CORPS

Did you know National Volunteer Month is an extension to an already established holiday?

National Volunteer Week debuted in the United States in 1974. Years later, President George H.W. Bush extended the celebration to establish April as National Volunteer Month. Since 1991, April has been designated to celebrate those who generously donate a part of their lives for the betterment of our communities.

TECH CORPS volunteers are crucial to the success of our organization. There are so many ways to get involved:

  • Mentoring students at the TECH CORPS Hackathon

  • Supporting students in our pre-apprenticeship programs

  • Providing guidance as a regional steering committee member

  • Donating to support high-quality technology learning experiences

Today through Giving Tuesday (November 28, 2023), TECH CORPS is celebrating the impact of our tech-savvy volunteers. Watch for impactful stories of our valued volunteers. Learn about the many ways you can join us in educating, exciting and empowering K-12 students through the TECH CORPS Volunteer Build.

As TECH CORPS expands its program offerings and implementation areas, our need for volunteers has multiplied. Through the TECH CORPS Volunteer Build, we hope to raise $50,000. These dollars will be used to recruit, train and deploy volunteers in our six states — California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio and Rhode Island.

We would be honored if you would consider joining the TECH CORPS Volunteer Build. Please visit our website for available volunteer opportunities in your area or to donate directly to this project through our secure portal.
